Brief of my fourth week YALI Washington Fellowship Program

Briefing of my third week YALI Program 2014

A new week began with the prospect of celebrating the Independence of the United States on July 4, so amazing to taking part for the first time in US.   Then see a summary of our activities for the week, this time focusing on Climate Change and Environmental Preservation. Two visits were made: • We visited The Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School, to see the Edible Schoolyard garden sustainable food [1] . This is an interesting initiative focused on sustainable development and the involvement of children and young people in the preservation of the environment. The Mission of the Edible Schoolyard is essentially to teach life skills and support academic learning through hands-on classes in a one-acre organic garden and kitchen classroom. Bref de ma troisième semaine au Programme YALI 2014:

Une nouvelle semaine avec en perspective la célébration de l'indépendance des Etats unis le 4 juillet, ce qui inaugure déjà un week end prolongé. Voyons alors le résumé de nos activités de la semaine axée cette fois ci sur le changement climatique et la préservation Environnemental. Deux visites ont été effectuées: ·          The Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School, Edible Schoolyard pour voir le jardin de la nourriture durable. C'est une initiative intéressante orienté vers le développement durable et l'implication des enfants et des jeunes dans la préservation de l'environnement.               La mission de la Edible Schoolyard est d'enseigner des compétences essentielles de la vie et appuyer les apprentissages scolaires par des cours pratiques dans un jardin bio et une classe de salle de cuisine. Le programme de récréation comestible est entièrement intégré dans la journée d'école et enseigne aux étudiants comment leurs choix alimentaires

Our focus of the week is Government Accountability and Legislation.   Our focus of the week is Government Accountability and Legislation. The second week was also announced with full discoveries and training. We briefly talked about classes, then the discoveries and finally our global appreciation. For classes: ·          Leadership skills training based on personal assessment with Sudha Shety, our program coordinator and also Assistant Dean of the Goldman School of Public policy. This course has made ​​us discover the nature of leadership, diversity and leadership. SWOT analysis has allowed each one of us to better locate and see the aspects which he must improve or give more attention to. ·          We also continue after the module on Public policy with class presentations. Brief of my first week of 2014 YALI Program

Already a week since the adventure of Washington Fellowship for Young Africans leaders 2014 has begun [1] . 50,000 young people applied and 500 were selected to participate in six weeks of training and exchanges in the United States on the following topics: Civic Leadership, Public Management and Business and Entrepreneurship. The program started June 14, 2014 in the 20 U.S. public universities that have been selected. I am one of six Nigerien participants in this 2014 edition. I'm at the University of California at Berkeley [2] where I am receiving a training in civic leadership at the prestigious Goldman School of Public Policy. We are 25 young people from 19 African countries at Berkeley. Our first week has been filled out and preached the colors of the program. Bref de ma première semaine du YALI 2014

Une semaine déjà que l’aventure du Washington fellowship pour les Jeunes leaders Africains est entame aux Etats Unis : YALI 2014. [i] 50 000 jeunes appliquant et 500 ont été retenu pour participer à 6 semaines de formations et d’échanges aux Etats Unis sur les thématiques suivants : Civic leadership, Public Management et Business et entrepreneuriat. Le programme a démarré le 14 juin 2014 dans les 20 universités publiques américaines ayant été sélectionné. Je fais partie des 6 nigériens participants à cette édition 2014. Je suis à l’université de Californie de Berkeley ou je suis une formation en civic leadership a Goldman School of Public Policy. Nous sommes 25 jeunes de 19 pays à Berkeley. Notre première semaine a été bien rempli et annonçais les couleurs du programme.
